Embrace the Struggle
Okay everyone, this is it. I started the P90X Extreme Home Fitness program on Sunday, August 8th and it is a killer!
The first thing I did when I got my P90X program a few days ago was read the Fitness Guide. In the beginning of the guide is a letter from the Carl Daikeler who is the CEO of Beachbody and Team Beachbody and the title of his letter is Embrace the Struggle. It was just what I needed to read.
In the letter Carl talks about how he went through the P90X program and how he struggled in the beginning but he persevered and made it through and had amazing results. He emphatically says “it’s okay if you’re struggling” because he doesn’t want anyone to quit.
I found this very encouraging because right then and there I knew that although this would be tough, I could do it. Many before me had the same issues and they conquered and so can I.
Whatever you want that’s worth having, usually requires some struggling. If you want to be successful, it usually requires some struggling.
If you want to have a successful business you will have to struggle to get it started and in a position where you are making a profit. The money just doesn’t come in as soon as you open the doors. There are expenses, employees, inventory, suppliers, distributors and customers you have to deal with on a regular basis but fighting through the struggles will lead to success.
In your relationships there are struggles. You have to be compassionate, caring, understanding, selfless, supportive, loving and able to stick with it if you want your relationships to work. Any married couple can tell you that it takes work to make a marriage work. As soon as the honeymoon is over, that’s when the work begins.
Ra ising children
is a struggle too. In order to be a good parent you must always set good examples, be supportive, authoritative, loving, encouraging and present in your children’s lives. They will disappoint you and sometimes let you down but if you fight through the struggles, you’ll have success.
So as I continue on this 90 journey I’m going to Embrace the Struggle and know that it will only last for a season. Since I’ve decided to do this, I know that I’m committed and if I stick with it and do everything that is required, I WILL have success because that is the Beachbody motto: Decide, Commit, Succeed!
To YOUR Success,
Decide, Commit, Succeed.
In a couple of weeks I’ll be starting a new adventure. I am so out of shape that I have come to a point in my life where it is mandatory for me to start working out again so I can get back in great physical shape. Ahhh, the good ole’ days.
Lately I’ve been working on my professional, spiritual and personal development but I’ve ignored my physical development. I used to be in tip top shape not too long ago. I mean I was a gym rat. But all of a sudden, work hours became long and it was hard for me to get in the gym. Then my three kids became very busy with their extracurricular activities and that made it even harder for me to get in the gym.
Before I knew it, I was a mess. I was out of shape, lazy and always tired but NOW it is the time to make that change.
I did my research and I’ve decided to go the route of P90X as my way of getting back in shape. Everyone I’ve heard talk about it only had good things to say. Although they all said it was challenging, they said if you stick w
ith it, it works and that is what I am looking for. RESULTS!
When I checked out the beachbody.com website, I came across their motto: Decide. Commit. Succeed. Man I love that motto. Right then and there I knew I was on the right path.
DECIDE is defined as to make a final choice or judgment about what to do.
Regardless of what you want to do in life you MUST first DECIDE to do. If you go back and forth about what it is you want, and you’re indecisive, you will continue to be lost. The most important step is to step out there, make a choice and tell yourself and let the world know that this is something you have decided to do.
COMMIT is defined as to carry into action deliberately.
COMMIT to make things happen on purpose. This is not something that isn’t knowingly, it is done on purpose, deliberately. It is the key to being successful. After you decide that you want to do something, you MUST commit to make it happen. You have to be persistent and consistent in working your plan EVERYDAY.
SUCCEED is defined as to attain a desired object or end.
Once you’ve made a commitment and put things in action, the only thing left is to SUCCEED. If you have a well thought out plan, and the proper system in place, success is right around the corner.
No one talks about or plans to fail and neither should you. Success is your goal and you can do it whether it is an exercise program, a business plan, continuing your education or getting a promotion on the job. If you DECIDE and COMMIT, you will be able to SUCCEED.
In 90 days I plan on showing the world my success by being committed to the fitness plan I’ve invested in. What about you? When do you plan on seeing success and in what areas of your life do you want to see it in?
Go out there and DECIDE, COMMIT and SUCCEED!
Please leave me a comment and let me know if they is something you need to Decide, Commit and Succeed in. Also, let others know about this post by sharing with your Facebook, Twitter and other social media friends.
To YOUR Success,
The Motivating Force That Drives You
Today I want to talk about Motivation. I have a few questions first. What motivates you to do what you do? Is your motivation strong enough to keep you going? What drives you to persist? What fuels your desires
?
Motivation is defined as a stimulus, influence, incentive or drive. Motivation is that thing that keeps you going, and going, and going, just like the Energizer Bunny. Motivation is the thing that drives you.
Proverbs 16:26 says The person who labors, labors for himself, for his hungry mouth drives him on.
When a man is hungry he will do anything to satisfy that hunger. Those hunger pangs are the motivating factor that drives him to find food. A hungry man knows that if he doesn’t eat, eventually he will die. Now is that motivation or what?
In business you must have a motivating factor or factors that drive you to be successful. If not, you will struggle continuously. Not only should you have these things that drive you, you must use them daily as a reminder of what needs to be done to be successful.
When finding your motivating factors there are two approaches you can take. You can take the negative approach or the positive approach. An example of the negative approach is looking at all of the bad things that can happen to you if you don’t persist and make things happen. Some negative things are:
- Working for someone else
- Always lacking money
- Dealing with rush hour traffic
- Not having freedom to manage your own time
These are the types of things that are so bad that you don’t want to experience them. The thought of going through these things makes you work hard to accomplish your goals.
The positive approach would be to look at the benefits of doing what needs to be done to get rewarded. Some positive things are:
- Financial freedom
- Total control of your schedule (freedom)
- Working for yourself
- More time with the family
When you take the positive approach, it’s all about accomplishing your goals to obtain pleasure. You will do what you need to do for gratification.
Regardless of what approach you use to motivate yourself, you MUST be persistent in going for the gold. You MUST work hard everyday to achieve your goals. You MUST not take no for an answer. You MUST keep your eyes focused on the end result and not your present circumstance.
CONSISTENCY is the key.
For me, I have a number of motivating factors I use to motivate me but you must find your own.
So find out what truly motivates you (negative or positive) and use it! Find out what feeds your fuel and keep it moving forward.
To YOUR Success,
Sometimes You Have to Improvise
Today I started the day off not quite the way I wanted to. I left the house and didn’t have my flash drive. Now if you’re like me, you have everything on your flash drive and if you don’t have it, you feel like your unequipped, lost, naked, bare, without your tools. You feel weak.
Now if I lose my flash drive I’m not too worried because I back up my inf ormation
but to leave the house without it means that today I’ll have to improvise.
To improvise means to make, invent, or arrange offhand; to make or fabricate out of what is conveniently on hand.
In essence it means to take the tools that you already have, and the knowledge that you have already obtained, and make it work for you. It means that you must be creative in order to complete a task. In order to accomplish a goal, you have to create something out of the limited resources you have.
Do you have a back up plan if something goes wrong? Are you totally dependant on one source of information, one source of training, one source of marketing?
What happens when your one source is dried up? What will you do? Can you improvise or will you suffer? I can work without my flash drive for a day because there is always something I need to do that doesn’t require me to have the information or documents that are on my flash drive. There is always a way out of no way. I CAN improvise.
Are you in that situation with your job where it is your one source of income? What if you were the BEST employee the company had but due to cutbacks they decided to get rid of some people and you was one of them because you had a high salary. Would this devastate you and your finances or would you be able to improvise and pull money from another source? Most people would be in trouble because they depend on their jobs as their sole source of income.
Even if you’re a network marketer, is your primary business your one source of income? Just imagine if that company folded, went out of business, shut down. Do you have money coming in from somewhere else? Can you improvise and make something happen based on the resources you have?
Regardless of what you do in life, first and foremost you should have multiple streams of income. You should be utilizing your God-given talents and skills to bring money into your household. Second, you should be ready to make adjustments, improvise, if something goes wrong and the money starts to dry up from one source. You should always be ready to make changes and work with what you have.
You were born with more than enough talents to make great things happen. It’s up to you to go out and do it.
To YOUR Success,
The “Top Commentators” Plugin is COOL!
Every since I created my blog and learned about widgets and Plugins, I’ve been fascinated by all of the things you can do with them. My new favorite plugin is Top Commentator. It’s a plugin that creates a widget that lists the people who leave the most comments on your blog post on your home page.
Now before you set this up
you need to install it and you can find it in the Plugin section. Once installed, it becomes a widget and then there are many different settings to choose from.
Check out my video below and once you’re done, leave me a comment telling me what you think.
Take a moment and look at my Top Commentators widget on the right side. Do you have this widget installed? Do you think this will benefit you. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
Also, tell everyone you know by retweeting this post or by posting this in your Facebook profile status.
