Decide, Commit, Succeed.
In a couple of weeks I’ll be starting a new adventure. I am so out of shape that I have come to a point in my life where it is mandatory for me to start working out again so I can get back in great physical shape. Ahhh, the good ole’ days.
Lately I’ve been working on my professional, spiritual and personal development but I’ve ignored my physical development. I used to be in tip top shape not too long ago. I mean I was a gym rat. But all of a sudden, work hours became long and it was hard for me to get in the gym. Then my three kids became very busy with their extracurricular activities and that made it even harder for me to get in the gym.
Before I knew it, I was a mess. I was out of shape, lazy and always tired but NOW it is the time to make that change.
I did my research and I’ve decided to go the route of P90X as my way of getting back in shape. Everyone I’ve heard talk about it only had good things to say. Although they all said it was challenging, they said if you stick w
ith it, it works and that is what I am looking for. RESULTS!
When I checked out the beachbody.com website, I came across their motto: Decide. Commit. Succeed. Man I love that motto. Right then and there I knew I was on the right path.
DECIDE is defined as to make a final choice or judgment about what to do.
Regardless of what you want to do in life you MUST first DECIDE to do. If you go back and forth about what it is you want, and you’re indecisive, you will continue to be lost. The most important step is to step out there, make a choice and tell yourself and let the world know that this is something you have decided to do.
COMMIT is defined as to carry into action deliberately.
COMMIT to make things happen on purpose. This is not something that isn’t knowingly, it is done on purpose, deliberately. It is the key to being successful. After you decide that you want to do something, you MUST commit to make it happen. You have to be persistent and consistent in working your plan EVERYDAY.
SUCCEED is defined as to attain a desired object or end.
Once you’ve made a commitment and put things in action, the only thing left is to SUCCEED. If you have a well thought out plan, and the proper system in place, success is right around the corner.
No one talks about or plans to fail and neither should you. Success is your goal and you can do it whether it is an exercise program, a business plan, continuing your education or getting a promotion on the job. If you DECIDE and COMMIT, you will be able to SUCCEED.
In 90 days I plan on showing the world my success by being committed to the fitness plan I’ve invested in. What about you? When do you plan on seeing success and in what areas of your life do you want to see it in?
Go out there and DECIDE, COMMIT and SUCCEED!
Please leave me a comment and let me know if they is something you need to Decide, Commit and Succeed in. Also, let others know about this post by sharing with your Facebook, Twitter and other social media friends.
To YOUR Success,
Sometimes You Have to Improvise
Today I started the day off not quite the way I wanted to. I left the house and didn’t have my flash drive. Now if you’re like me, you have everything on your flash drive and if you don’t have it, you feel like your unequipped, lost, naked, bare, without your tools. You feel weak.
Now if I lose my flash drive I’m not too worried because I back up my inf ormation
but to leave the house without it means that today I’ll have to improvise.
To improvise means to make, invent, or arrange offhand; to make or fabricate out of what is conveniently on hand.
In essence it means to take the tools that you already have, and the knowledge that you have already obtained, and make it work for you. It means that you must be creative in order to complete a task. In order to accomplish a goal, you have to create something out of the limited resources you have.
Do you have a back up plan if something goes wrong? Are you totally dependant on one source of information, one source of training, one source of marketing?
What happens when your one source is dried up? What will you do? Can you improvise or will you suffer? I can work without my flash drive for a day because there is always something I need to do that doesn’t require me to have the information or documents that are on my flash drive. There is always a way out of no way. I CAN improvise.
Are you in that situation with your job where it is your one source of income? What if you were the BEST employee the company had but due to cutbacks they decided to get rid of some people and you was one of them because you had a high salary. Would this devastate you and your finances or would you be able to improvise and pull money from another source? Most people would be in trouble because they depend on their jobs as their sole source of income.
Even if you’re a network marketer, is your primary business your one source of income? Just imagine if that company folded, went out of business, shut down. Do you have money coming in from somewhere else? Can you improvise and make something happen based on the resources you have?
Regardless of what you do in life, first and foremost you should have multiple streams of income. You should be utilizing your God-given talents and skills to bring money into your household. Second, you should be ready to make adjustments, improvise, if something goes wrong and the money starts to dry up from one source. You should always be ready to make changes and work with what you have.
You were born with more than enough talents to make great things happen. It’s up to you to go out and do it.
To YOUR Success,
Visualize vs. Fantasize
Do you visualize what your life will be in the future; successful business, big house, fancy cars, traveling around the world, more time with the family, freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it?
Or do you fantasize about what your life should be like?
There is a big difference in the two. Check out Visualize vs. Fantasize to see what I’m talking about.
After you watch the video, leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
Personal Development is NOT an Option
That’s right, personal development is not an option. It is a priority and most people don’t understand that. People really don’t understand the importance of developing self first, then working on their business second.
They think if they get involved with a great business with a great product and some great people, they will have great success. That’s not the case.
Abraham Lincoln said “If I had eight hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend six hours sharpening my ax.” Abraham Lincoln knew that in order to do an effective job at chopping down the tree, he had to prepare properly. In this example YOU are the ax and you must be sharpened (developed) in order to do the job effectively and efficiently. You should work on personal development before attempting to complete any task.
Jim Rohn said to “Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job.” People have the misconception that the education or training they received yesterday is good for today. You must consistently be willing to grow and learn in order to be successful
You must make personal development a priority.
If you look at how a car operates, you know the engine is very important and the heartbeat of the car. If the engine is not taken care of, you will have problems. If the engine is not tuned up or serviced regularly, then it will not run efficiently. But once the engine is strong and clicking on all cylinders, then everything else works.
YOU are the engine in your business. You must get filled up with fuel, serviced, and tuned up regularly.
You must make yourself valuable. If you’re not valuable you don’t make much money. Why would someone pay top dollar for a low budget product? It’s not going to happen. Make yourself valuable by developing yourself.
You have to develop you before success can happen. Are you willing to do what it takes to be successful? If so find some good books to read. Listening to some motivational CD’s while in your car or riding the bus. Watch some training DVD’s instead of those dumb television shows that come on all the time. Attend a workshop or training related to personal development or your business.
It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re doing something to make yourself better. And make sure you’re doing it everyday. Personal development is a continual process. It is a journey. You never arrive at a destination.
So in order to get that business going the way you want it to, you must consistently be engage in personal development. You must master the art of working on self EVERYDAY.
Go out and make an investment in yourself today and purchase some personal development products.
To YOUR Success,
Rodney
Wealth Habits
I’m listening to a series of CD’s titled “Passion, Profit & Power” by Marshall Sylver and the first of the CD’s I’m listening to are the ones on Profit. In this workshop, he basically talks about the wealth habits of people who have money. What I want to discuss is some of those wealth habits and how they can transform you.
One of the wealth habits is that wealthy people make money first in their minds. He talks about how people should envision making money and then carry it out. For me it’s clear to create that picture so I’ll have a visual to strive for. He also talks about those who think govern those who labor. I don’t care what your line of work is, the people at the top, the decision makers, are the ones who are telling the laborers what to do. They don’t put in the physical effort like the people at the bottom do.
They tell them what to do.
Another wealth habit of rich people is that they create relationships. They understand that they don’t have everything and that they must align themselves up with other people to get what they want. Wealthy people are excited about what they do and when people see that excitement, they want to be a part of it. Everyone wants to be a part of something that is fun and so you need to sell them on your excitement and fun with all your heart.
Wealthy people have a habit of making quick decisions. They move fast and do things faster. They make decisions quickly as opposed to waiting until things are “perfect” and still not work out. They figure it’s better to make a quick decision and make changes in the beginning as opposed to waiting and waiting and waiting and THEN execute only to make changes later. Ineffective people take so long to make decisions because they are afraid to make the wrong decision. Since ineffective people look for wrongness of their decisions, they usually find it. Wealthy people fail forward fast.
Wealthy people know the value of their time. They give time and power to people and circumstances that will allow them to get more and more money. A wealthy person will not give too much time to any activity that is not worth their time or will not make them a lot of money. Time is money!
So now you know what it takes to be wealthy, what are you going to do?
To YOUR Success,
Rodney
